Harden & Huyse Chocolates

The manufacturing of fine Belgian chocolates was begun in Victoria, B. C., by John Hardenne in a test store in 1982, with a silent partner. Realizing the test had produced potential, Mr. Hardenne then encouraged his two sons to consider a career as chocolatiers and the opening of the original Harden & Huyse was undertaken in Saskatoon, Sask., in 1983.

Our early years were focused on manufacturing techniques and meeting demand.  That lead us to redesigning our boxes in a need for greater distribution.  Subsequently, our award winning packaging lead to sales in New York, San Francisco and nationally across Canada.

Today we are focused on the same values which gave us our start, consistent quality!  The spirit of this business has always been about family and our love for chocolate.  This lead us to opening our latest store in Cobourg, Ontario where our parents had retired.

The Cobourg location is operated by Claude and Charlene Hardenne, sister Jennifer and partner Frederic Picard.
